Okay, we got screwed.
From Monday's Penny-Arcade news: "And Killing Without Konsequence's Ken Wang
has created a "Blatant plea for a mention on Penny Arcade," the last comic of
the burgeoning "Link Me" genre that I will ever include in my newsposts."
That really hurts, man -- I put entire minutes of my life into our
blatant plea for a mention.
Okay, I've moved on. Today we start setting up some new possibilities for
the strip. (I hear you say, "Yeah, like more dumb gags with the robot." And
this is not untrue, but it's not all I mean, either.) The next few strips
are a prelude to what we hope will be the first longer storyline, which I
can't tell you much about because I haven't written it yet. (Duh.) By the
time the dust settles, Drew and I hope that we'll have some fresh props to
play with, an adventure of sorst under our collective belt (please don't
try to imagine a collective belt), and in general it will be a good thing.
Because, bottom line, we don't want to keep doing the same thing every day.
That would get old for everyone. So stay tuned while we try new things.
By the way, Drew is going to have some kind of stroke if people don't come
hang out and pal around on the forum. Yeah, I know, we're new, and you can't
think of anything to say except "wow, today's strip was ... really rough!"
You can do better than that. C'mon down, hang out, talk about whatever you
feel like. Talk about Jennifer Lopez's blouse (although I think we can
agree there was literally nothing there to talk about). Don't fear Delphi.
Well, much.
And check out Penny-Arcade, whether or not they love us.
Over and out. [03/28/01]
